Help Preserve the History of the People Who Built the Commonwealth

If Shadows in Paradise resonated with you, I have one final request.

The book tells part of the story.

But no book can capture every voice.

No book can tell every family's story.

No book can preserve every memory.

That's why I've launched The Forgotten Builders of the CNMI, an ongoing project dedicated to preserving the stories, memories, photographs, documents, and experiences of the foreign workers who helped build modern Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.

Whether you were a worker yourself, the child of a worker, a friend, a neighbor, an employer, or simply someone whose life was touched by this history, your story matters.

Together, we can ensure that these lives are remembered not as statistics, but as human beings whose labor, sacrifices, and dreams helped shape the Commonwealth we know today.

  • Receive future newsletters and historical stories

  • Read personal accounts from workers and their families

  • Submit your own memories, photographs, and experiences

  • Help preserve an important chapter of CNMI history for future generations

Because history remembers politicians.

History remembers governments.

Let's make sure it remembers the builders too.
